Released by Puro Recordings in March 2026.
Following his brilliant but unrelentingly sorrowful previous album, Arvola returns with Silmät sulaa — a record he describes as “my summer album.” And of course, its warmth feels more like a heatstroke from a sun too close.
Composed and produced over the course of two winter months in early 2024, Silmät sulaa began as an attempt to make something brighter, more hopeful. But instead of light, Arvola found complexity. The songs were written in chronological order, with side A threading luscious string motifs, and side B spiralling into more otherworldly, unstable terrain. LISTEN HERE

Released by Puro Recordings on LP in 2025, original release on cassette + digital in 2024 via Paa jotaki.
“Arvola’s sound world fully reveals itself through a thick forest carpet of electronic layers, ghost sounds, humming, buzzing, scampering, and the wind in the trees. By fully committing to the noises in his head, Arvola is able to take us with him to somewhere hidden and unique.” – The Quietus
Meidän täytyy valvoa jottemme nukkuisi, sillä maailma on liukas is Pietu Arvola’s first album under his own name. The album was created during a year of loss and a remarkably grey time when most of the formerly distinctive seasons coalesced into a seemingly endless rainy period. LISTEN HERE

“The Finnish quartet fuse post-punk, cosmic music, and black metal into a heady brew that just gets weirder and weirder, deeper and deeper, darker and darker” -The Quietus album of the week
The music of Musta Huone, Ville-Matti Koskiniemi (guitar & vocals), Joonas Paasiala (drums), Santeri Paasiala (bass), & Pietu Arvola (synths and noise) is difficult to pin down. What started off in mid-2010s as a primitive lo-fi duo drawing from punk and black metal influences, has developed into a free-roaming hybrid mutation soaking inspiration from kraut rock, 90’s alternative and noise rock and experimental electronic music.
